Throughout the year, Glen William Public School welcomed many special visitors.
Leigh from Games of the People visited Glen William Public School to teach students and staff about Aboriginal culture through traditional games. We listened to stories, learnt about Aboriginal languages and cultures, and played some awesome games using kangaroo-skinned balls. Students still love using the kangaroo-skinned ball Leigh gave them to play new and old games.
Nan Margaret visited Glen William Public School on several occasions this year. She has taught students at Glen William Public School how to rock paint just as she did with her mother. Nan Margaret taught students about different symbols she and her mother painted on the rocks as a method of communication between family members. Nan Margaret has also cooked with students and shared many stories of her childhood and Aboriginal culture. We are always thankful for her help, support, knowledge, and care.
A huge thank you to Kara Clements who also visited Glen William Public School this year to teach students some Gathang language and play Gathang bingo. Students learnt lots of new words and had such fun playing Bingo!
